My name is Sherry Chen, and my family has owned and operated Sherry’s Place since 1989. We are proud to say, we were the first gift and art shop on Sham Mian Island. For over a dozen years, thousands of visitors have come to Sherry’s Place. We like to make our shop – a home away from home. We specialize in serving families who are adopting. Over the years, we’ve helped many families. Some come into our shop with all sorts of questions – about Chinese customs and language. Some need recommendations on where to eat or what interesting sites to see. Some just enjoy relaxing in our beautiful courtyard. And I especially enjoy chatting with the families and meeting their beautiful children.

Gifts for All Occasions

And everyone loves to shop! We’ll help you select just the right gift. For the baby, we have a wide assortment of shoes, clothes, hair decorations and finger puppets. But we also have gifts for her down the road:

• When she turns 5 – an ink stamp with her Chinese name.
• “Sweet 16” – a jewelry box or a granite carving of her when she was a baby.
• Wedding gift – a wedding box, purchased way back when she was just an infant

  It’s fun to be creative. But not half as fun as giving her the gift when she’s older – as a wonderful reminder of this special time.

We also have many fun gifts for your extended family and friends:

• Cards with Western names in Chinese Calligraphy
• A huge assortment of Chinese purses – some are perfect for cell phones
• Beautiful wooden combs with hand-painted ladies on them

  We’ll Ship Your Gifts Home

Whatever you’re looking for – come in and ask. If we don’t have it, we’ll find it. And we realize you have your hands full with a new baby. So, we’d be glad to ship the gifts home for you. We only charge for shipping; handling is free – our pleasure.

Babies are messy. And they like to get YOU messy too! So, please consider using our laundry service. We offer special discounts for adopting families.
