Batik: This special crude hand work is a way of local minority nation; it is limited to used to print colored patterns on cloth. , it seems to be easy to make with a knife made of a piece of bamboo and copper, blade to dip into the melted WAX ,and then draw patterns with the melted wax on the white cotton. The cloth with the pattern drawing is "WAX ENGRAVING" or "GREY CLOTH”. The gray cloth is many times colored with a natural dye ,and know as indigo, then boiled to melt off the wax and finally cleaned to show the distinct blue and white patterns ,The handicraft is what we call Batik or Wax printing. It's really decorative and useful and collectible.
